Brodie and Bennet win the Towards Zero Race Torquay

Irish national champion Sam Bennett (Deceuninck Quick Step) lived up to his reputation as one of the world’s best sprinters, taking top honours in a thrilling finish to the men’s race at the inaugural Towards Zero Race Torquay (1.1). Last year's European U23 Road Race champion Alberto Dainese (Team Sunweb) finished 3rd, Giacomo Nizzolo (NTT Pro Cycling) was second. Martin Laas (Bora Hansgrohe) finished 16th and Mihkel Räim (Israel Start Up Nation) 88th.

The women's race was won by Brodie Chapman (FDJ Nouvelle Aquitaine Futuroscope). Lotta Henttala (Trek Segafredo) finished 8th.
