Five men & two women qualified for Tokyo road cycling events

The Union Cycliste Internationale (UCI) announced today the list of National Olympic Committees (NOCs) qualified for the Women’s and Men’s road events at the upcoming Olympic Games, and the quotas of athletes allocated to them.

According to the Olympic qualification system calendar for Road Cycling, the NOCs must confirm the number of quota's used by 15 December 2019, before the UCI reallocates the remaining places.

Estonia has 2 spots for the men's road race & time trial, Tanel Kangert & Rein Taaramäe are the main contenders for Estonia's Olympic team. Latvia gained 2 spots only for the road race, probably Krists Neilands and Toms Skujins will go. Lithuania has 1 spot for the men's road race. It will be a hard task to choose the right guy as the course is for climbers. Lithuania and Finland can be proud of their women, Rasa Leilevyte (Lit) and Lotta Henttala (Fin), who have secured a spot in the Olympic women's road race too.

Olympic Games 2020 track qualification quotas will be announced after the World Track Championship's on 1st of March, mountain biking after 27th May & BMX after 1st June.
