Martin Laas is excited about 2020

Updated: Jan 3

After a victorious 2019, Martin Laas signed a one-year contract with one of the world's leading teams, Bora-Hansgrohe. He was signed for his sprinting qualities, and Martin can test his fast legs already on the first World Tour race of the year, Santos Tour Down Under (21st -26th January '20). He will lead Bora-Hansgrohes sprinting train with Erik Baška over there. "The guy in better condition will have the support of the team, we will decide the exact leader during the week before the race. We leave Europe already on 9th January for a training camp in Adelaide," confirmed Martin to BCC. The fast guy from Tartu told that he has had a good couple of months' of preparation with a two week training camp in Mallorca behind him. "Newly signed coach Henri Werner has helped me prepare for 2020, he worked in another World Tour team, Sunweb, before. I have no fear to take on the best sprinters of the world, but I do think sometimes about how I will handle it. At the moment i feel the anxiety of waiting, I want to see how I manage it and what level I am compared to the best sprinter's," confessed Martin. The Estonian Sprinter told that he won't have any Grand Tours in his program, contesting a full year on the World Tour level is already a big challenge in itself for the first year. Back in Europe, he will have probably Volta Algarve, Het Nieuwsblad & Kuurne-Bruxelles-Kuurne in his program.
