Nizzolo won the windy 2nd stage of the Paris-Nice, Neilands 10th

Giacomo Nizzolo (NTT Pro Cycling) won the second stage of the Paris-Nice ahead of Pascal Ackermann (Bora- hansgrohe) and Jasper Stuyven (Trek-Segafredo). "It was a really nervous day with crosswinds. I have had good legs for the whole beginning of the season and what can i say, I'm very happy winning here," told Nizzolo before the podium ceremony.

The race was split again in the crosswinds with Bora Hansgrohe putting the pressure on, finally they had 4 riders in the first group, including yesterday's winner and the GC leader Maximilian Schachmann.

Israel Start Up Nation did a good race too and they had 3 guys in the 11 men strong front group. Neilands tried to attack inside the last 500m, but Peter Sagan reacted straight away and made a good leadout for Pascal Ackermann, who just didn't have enough legs against Nizzolo. Finally Neilands was 10th of the stage and he is holding 8th position in the GC now.

Evaladas Šiškevičius (Nippo Delko Provence One) finished in the second group on the 16th position. Tanel Kangert (EF Pro Cycling) finished in a group loosing 40 seconds to the stage winner and was 41st. He is 21st now in GC, one minuteand one second down in the GC, but there are many classics riders, not GC riders in the front at the moment.

Many GC contenders lost lot of time today again and Tanel's prospects finishing close to the podium in the GC are still alive. Tanel has his Colombian teammate Sergio Higuito on the 4th position in the GC at the moment and probably EF Pro Cycling has put their cards on him.
