Peeter Pruus may be able to go to the Olympic Games

Jaan Kirsipuu (the Estonian national team coach) told in the last episode of the Estonian cycling podcast "Jalgrattapalavik" that the first guy who might replace Tanel Kangert or Rein Taaramäe in the Olympic's road team is the mountainbiker Peeter Pruus (Torpado-Südtirol-International MTB Pro Team). Peeter is one of the best MTB marathon riders in the world, but he has been succesful on the road too. For an example, he represented Estonia in the European elite men Road Race Championsips in Bretagne, France few years ago and helped to protect Tanel Kangert in the final, at some point he even found himself from a big breakaway group, together with well-known pro-cyclists.

"If i could go to Olympics, i would definately go. It would be huge," confirmed Peeter his ambitions to BCC.

Jaan Kirsipuu told in the podcast that the course in Tokyo is hard and suited for climbers. "If Kangert and Taaramäe are feeling well, they will fly directly after the Tour de France to Japan," explaind Jaan.

A lot can happen during the Tour. It means that Peeter has his chances.

The man from Rapla, Estonia is at the moment prepearing for the season in Girona and he will have his first race of the year on the 7th of February in Dubai. One of the Hero MTB marathon series event will take place there.

He told us, that World & European MTB marathon Championships will be the most important races for him again.

"At the European's i will definately try to go for a medal again," explained us the ex-European MTB marathon champion.
