Quintana won the Tour des Alpes Maritimes et du Var, Kangert 4th!

The last 136km long stage of the Tour des Alpes Maritimes et du Var (2.1) was won from the breakaway. Julien Bernard (Trek Segafredo) took the stage's honours winning ahead of Nans Peters (Ag2r La Mondiale). The breakaway had a comfortable lead before the last climb in Toulon (Mont Faron) and the GC guys had a battle between themselves. Nairo Quintana (Team Arkea Samsic) was finally the fastest from the main field and finished 7th of the stage ahead of Romain Bardet (Ag2r La Mondiale), Richie Porte (Trek Segafredo) and Tanel Kangert (EF Pro Cycling).

The GC turned out to be in the same line up, Quintana won, Bardet second, Porte third and Tanel Kangert 4th.

It's the best start of the season ever for the Estonian Grand Tour specialist. Toms Skujins (Trek Segafredo) finished 20th in the GC.
