Tartu2024/ started with Trofej Umag, Ärm 10th

Updated: Mar 8

The Croatian UCI calendar opener Trofej Umag (UCI 1.2) finished in a bunch sprint. The Dutch talent Kooij Olav (Jumbo-Visma Development Team) won the 154km long race ahead of the Slovenian sprinter Marko Kump (Adria Mobil). Tartu2024/'s Rait Ärm finished 10th. " I had good feelings through out the day, but didn't manage to pick the good side of the road in the sprint and had to fight in the wind for a while and lost the momentum. The team did a good job today and helped me a lot, Antti-Jussi took a massive turn before the entry to the finishing town, so i could be well positioned for the corners and roundabouts in the final 1500 meters. It's a good beginning for the season, but we can do better," explained the Estonian youngster at the finish line.

"There were many crashes in the end and we had couple of guys involved in those too, the first races are always nervous. I am very pleased with the riders we have this year and their attitude is super, it was a good first race and i'm now sure that we will do some nice things this year," told the team's manager Rene Mandri.

The next race will be this Sunday on the 8th of March, Poreč Trophy.
